Bill Deschenes honored

On August 31st, one of our favorite supporters from the State Education Department, Bill Deschenes was honored on his retirement at Tavern on the Green. Bill helped us open the Value Plus Shop in 1987, and once again helped us start the VESID part of our program in Manhattan. Bill is a class act, and we all miss him very much. We gifted Bill and his wife with a painting done by Sheila of two lions which was called Strength and Courage. This is a most appropriate name for the painting for Mr. Deschenes. He certainly exhibited both descriptions having both courage and strength to make things happen. The luncheon at Tavern on the Green was delicious peers of other agencies lavished praise, as deserved, on Bill’s history. He will be missed.
